What causes nail fungus in women?

Prolonged moisture (often linked to wearing closed shoes or sports activities), micro-traumas to the nail, and frequent use of nail polish or artificial nails encourage this fungal infection.

How does the Fotona ClearSteps® laser treatment work?

The laser delivers controlled light and thermal energy that passes through the nail plate to uniformly heat the nail and nail bed.

This action progressively weakens the fungi responsible for the infection and creates an environment favorable to healthy nail regrowth, without damaging the surrounding tissue.

Is the ClearSteps® treatment painful?

No, the procedure is non-invasive and requires no anesthesia.

Patients generally feel a simple pulsed heat sensation (mild to moderate) that is completely tolerable.

Is there recovery time after laser sessions?

No downtime is required.

This is a procedure with no social downtime: normal daily activities can be resumed immediately after a session lasting about 30 minutes.

When will results be visible?

The results are progressive and become apparent as the new healthy nail grows.

Who is a good candidate?

This treatment is aimed at women with confirmed or suspected nail fungus who want a non-invasive option.

It is also ideal for those who cannot tolerate or take antifungal medications.

Is there a fee for the initial evaluation consultation?

No, Médispa Physimed offers a free medical consultation. This preliminary evaluation is required to confirm the diagnosis of onychomycosis and establish the most appropriate protocol based on the severity of the infection.
