How it works

What are

Neuromodulators?

Injectable medications used to temporarily reduce the activity of facial muscles responsible for wrinkles (forehead, frown lines, crow's feet). The goal is not to freeze the face, but to soften pronounced features while preserving natural expressions and masculine facial structure. A prior consultation confirms suitability based on your anatomy.

How do neuromodulators work?

Neuromodulators temporarily block nerve signal transmission to the specific facial muscles responsible for expression lines. As the contraction force of these muscles decreases, the overlying skin can gradually relax, reducing the appearance of dynamic wrinkles.

For patients, the treatment is carefully planned to preserve a natural and expressive appearance — doses and areas are tailored to the muscle structure. The effects are temporary and reversible. A medical evaluation determines the appropriate areas and doses for each patient.

What happens during the procedure and what is the recovery time?

The appointment begins with a medical evaluation during which the doctor analyzes facial movements, symmetry, and the areas to be treated. The injections are performed using micro-needles directly into the targeted muscles during a session lasting approximately 15 to 30 minutes.

After the treatment, slight redness, mild sensitivity, or small bruises at the injection sites may occur and generally resolve quickly. Most patients resume their normal activities immediately. Post-treatment instructions are always provided.

What results can they expect from neuromodulators?

The effects generally appear a few days after treatment and continue to evolve gradually over one to two weeks. Patients may observe a reduction in the most pronounced expression lines, a more rested and less tired-looking face, and the preservation of natural expressions when doses are properly adapted to the anatomy. The duration of the effects varies by individual and depends on the product used, the areas treated, and metabolism. Maintenance treatment is usually recommended to sustain the results over time.

Who is a good candidate for neuromodulators?

Neuromodulator injections can be considered for patients who have visible expression lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows, or around the eyes, who want smoothing without surgery or downtime, and who are looking for a temporary and adjustable approach.

A mandatory medical evaluation is required to confirm the indication and rule out any contraindications.

Which areas can be treated?

Commonly treated areas in patients include the forehead, the glabella — the area between the eyebrows often associated with frown lines and a severe expression — and the eye contour for crow's feet. Doses and areas are adapted to the muscle anatomy during the medical consultation.

Are there any side effects or risks?

Side effects are generally mild and temporary and may include redness or tenderness at the injection sites, mild bruising, and transient headaches. As with any medical treatment, risks exist and following post-treatment instructions helps limit them. Your physician will review all potential risks during the pre-treatment consultation.

Are there any maintenance treatments or alternatives?

Since the effects of neuromodulators are temporary, maintenance sessions are generally recommended to maintain the results over time. The frequency of maintenance treatments varies by individual.

Additional options may also be discussed as needed, including fillers for volume loss, laser treatments such as Fotona or Secret PRO™ for skin quality and tightening, and collagen stimulation procedures. A personalized plan is established after your medical evaluation.

03 What results can they expect from neuromodulators?

The effects generally appear a few days after treatment and continue to evolve gradually over one to two weeks. Patients may observe a softening of the most prominent expression lines, a more rested and less tired-looking face, and the preservation of natural expressions when doses are properly adjusted. The duration of the effects varies by individual and depends on the product used, the treated areas, and metabolism. Maintenance treatment is usually recommended to sustain the results over time.

04 Who is a good candidate for neuromodulators?

Neuromodulator injections may be considered for expression lines visible on the forehead, between the eyebrows, or around the eyes, for those wishing to soften them without surgery or downtime, and who are looking for a temporary and adjustable approach.

A mandatory medical evaluation is required to confirm the indication and rule out any contraindications.

05 Which areas can be treated?

Commonly treated areas in male patients include the forehead, the glabella — the area between the eyebrows often associated with frown lines and a severe expression — and the eye area for crow's feet. Doses and areas are tailored to muscle anatomy during the medical consultation.

06 Are there any side effects or risks?

Side effects are generally mild and temporary and may include redness or tenderness at the injection sites, mild bruising, and transient headaches. As with any medical treatment, risks exist and following post-treatment instructions helps limit them. Your physician will review all potential risks during the pre-treatment consultation.

07 Are there any maintenance treatments or alternatives?

Because the effects of neuromodulators are temporary, maintenance sessions are generally recommended to sustain the results over time.

Additional options may also be discussed as needed, including dermal fillers for facial volume loss, laser treatments such as Fotona or Secret PRO™ for skin quality and tightening, and collagen-stimulating procedures. A personalized plan is established following your medical evaluation.
