How it works

What are

Sculptra® ?

Sculptra® is an injectable treatment based on poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Unlike traditional fillers that provide immediate volume, it works by gradually stimulating the body's natural collagen production. This treatment improves skin firmness, thickness, and overall texture for a subtle, long-lasting, and natural rejuvenating effect.

How does the Sculptra® treatment work?

Sculptra® is made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a fully biocompatible substance. After injection, these microparticles act as a biological stimulus that naturally prompts your body to produce new collagen. This supports dermal thickening and improves skin density and quality over time.

How does Sculptra® differ from traditional fillers?

Unlike traditional fillers that provide immediate and sometimes artificial volume, Sculptra® does not perform direct filling. It acts progressively by recreating the structure of the skin from within. Results evolve naturally and subtly, without a frozen or sudden effect.

What concrete results can be expected?

You can expect skin that appears firmer, more toned, and visibly reshaped. The treatment smooths the skin's texture to make it softer and more even, while optimizing dermal density to deliver an overall revitalized and rejuvenated appearance.

Is the procedure painful and does it require anesthesia?

Discomfort felt during the session is rated as low to moderate. Although the treatment is very well tolerated, a topical (cream) or local anesthetic can be applied depending on the targeted area and your preferences to ensure optimal comfort.

How long does a session take and what is the recovery time?

The injection session generally lasts between 30 and 45 minutes. Recovery is short: the vast majority of patients can return to work and resume their normal daily activities on the same day as the treatment.

What are the normal side effects after injections?

It is completely normal to notice mild redness, temporary swelling, or slight local sensitivity at the injection sites. These temporary side effects are mild and resolve on their own within one to two days.

How many sessions should be planned and when are results visible?

The benefits are not instantaneous since collagen production takes time. Changes develop progressively over several weeks to months. For an optimal and long-lasting result, a typical protocol generally includes 2 to 3 sessions spaced several weeks apart.
